Bio

Based in Deer Park, WA, indie rock act PeteDanger is the solo project of multitalented singer/songwriter/musician/producer Pete Erickson.

Erickson began piano lessons at the age of 5 and learned viola in elementary school. When he broke his leg at 15 and had nothing to do all summer but sit around, he picked up his older brother’s guitar, learned U2’s “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and was hooked. He would go on to sing at church at 16, learn to play bass and drums in college, and played with several outstanding acts over the years as a live musician.

Erickson began writing his own music later in life. With many years of performances under his belt, he says he became bored with the same old themes in popular music and began by writing songs for himself with the goal of fusing great rock music with lyrics and messages that didn’t fly in the face of the way he lived.

Known for an easygoing stage presence coupled with hard hitting guitar riffs, PeteDanger draws inspiration from a wide range of influences, from 70’s Rock greats Queen and Led Zeppelin, to 90’s Grunge where Pete grew up in Seattle, to Modern Rock outfits such as Muse and Royal Blood.

PeteDanger’s sound has been described as guitar-driven indie and alt-rock riffs married to pop melodies, while his “deep and seductive vocals,” add a hint of country. Pete jokes that while he’s “not really a fan of country music, but if it works, what can I say!”

In 2022, PeteDanger released 2 singles, “No Looking Back” and “You Drive Me Crazy” to establish a baseline for future projects that are currently in the works. About “You Drive Me Crazy,” Steven Azami called it “an easy recommendation for any and all music fans,” with “incredibly catchy riffs.” The single garnered over 200k views in TikTok creator videos in the first 3 days of availability.

Pete is currently working on recording his first album, to be released later in 2022.
